Creative Circle is a monthly gathering to play with creativity! Each craft is inspired by the colors, shapes, textures, properties and symbolism of a chosen flower or plant.
Aster – Astrum, from Latin “star” for its star-shape, is a late summer bloomer, often marking the transition into fall and new beginnings. With ties to folklore and legend, that holds much wisdom, the Aster has been considered a bridge between our world and the stars and a representation of celestial beings. The Aster is both sensitive and receptive, embracing the full expression of the sun’s rays from its central core of several tiny flowers surrounded by long, delicate petals.
Join us at The Center to create a quilt painting inspired by the Aster flower’s star shape, colors, and symbolism as well as the wisdom and practices that feed us (astrology, tarot, family lore). Choosing from a variety of colors and patterns that we feel pulled to will help us to understand our own unique self-expression, cultivating inner presence and receptivity. Just as the stars paint a tapestry in the sky, we will quilt together painted symbols, images, patterns and colors, creating painterly reminders that we are one of the many stars that shine brightly! This workshop will be led by visiting artist Meg @_daydreamdaydream_!
All materials provided. We will be using a 8×8” canvas and acrylic paints.
