Creative Circle is a monthly gathering to play with creativity! Each craft is inspired by the colors, shapes, textures, properties and symbolism of a chosen flower or plant.
Hydrangea – Late summer’s warmth, held by the soil. Raindrops and dew, held by the layered cup-like forms of the seed-capsule. Hydrangea, the water vessel, captures attention with its large flower layers and thick green foliage. Just like the vessels that they resemble, there is much that is held within and underneath.
In this workshop, we will consider various vessel shapes to inspire the creation of a watercolor painting. All materials provided.

About the workshop facilitator:
Emily Downes is a Milwaukee-based artist whose creative practice involves multimedia modes of making, including video, animation, photography, music, painting, sewing and puppetry. Her creations are deeply rooted in the personal and inspired by her curiosity in symbols and synchronicities that arise in places, conversations, memories, and dreams. Fascinated by the art and universality of storytelling, she engages in the notion that broader connections can be made from sharing personal experiences. For Emily, making art comes full circle when engaged with community, as she is most passionate for sharing her talents with all ages while collaborating with local artists to build a strong and vibrant community.
